  • Junior Tennis
    • We are excited to create an unforgettable summer tennis experience for your children! Our programming offers instruction for all levels of play as well as age appropriate competitive experiences.

Facilitating a Positive Tennis Experience for Children:

      • Fostering an environment where children can learn, love, and enjoy the sport of tennis.
      • Cultivating a learning atmosphere that emphasizes values such as respect, sportsmanship, challenge, and personal growth.
      • Integrating the importance of teamwork with individual development goals.
      • Offering a supportive, safe, fun, and dynamic environment for both practice and competitive play.
      • Utilizing skill-based development within a game-based training approach.

Please be aware of the following details regarding the Junior Tennis Programs:
The programs operate from Monday to Friday every week. Friday serves as a built-in bonus day in the event of earlier-week rainouts. While we cannot guarantee makeup days for rained-out sessions, we will make every effort to schedule compensatory classes when feasible. In the case of play interruption, coaches may relocate kids inside the clubhouse (when possible) for engaging indoor activities such as a tennis quiz or fitness challenge. If you miss a session from Monday to Thursday, you have the option to join a future week, provided there is available space on that day. To inquire about availability, please email [email protected]. Fridays are typically reserved for match play at BTC. Occasionally, Advanced and Tweeners players may participate in match play events against other clubs or teams.

      Family Commitments: A Team Effort

Running a successful home swim meet requires the support of over 70 individuals. Therefore, it's imperative that all families participate in volunteer assignments at every meet throughout the season.

Each family will either select a volunteer task or be assigned one at both home and away meets. For home meets specifically, each family is expected to contribute to the Home Meet Snack Bar, which serves as our primary fundraising source for special events and activities.

      Typical volunteer assignments
      • Timing (using a stopwatch to record times)
      • Home Meet Snack Bar (fundraiser for the team)
      • Bull Pen (organizing swimmers by event, heat, and lane)
      • Heat Winner Ribbons (distributing ribbons to each heat winner)
      • Runner (delivering information to timers and scorers)
      • Scorer (assisting in tallying scores for each event and the total for the meet)
      • Stroke & Turn Official
      Expectations:
Volunteer Tasks: Families will either choose or be assigned a volunteer task for each meet.
Home Meet Snack Bar: It is expected that each family contributes to the Home Meet Snack Bar, which serves as our primary fundraising effort for special events and activities.
      Typical Volunteer Assignments Include:
      1. Timing: Use a stopwatch to record times.
      2. Home Meet Snack Bar: Support our team fundraiser.
      3. Bull Pen: Organize swimmers by event, heat, and lane.
      4. Heat Winner Ribbons: Distribute ribbons to each heat winner.
      5. Runner: Bring information to timers and then to scorers.
      6. Scorer: Collaborate with others to tally scores for each event and the total for the meet.
      7. Stroke & Turn Official: Ensure adherence to stroke and turn rules.

Your active involvement ensures the success of our team events and fosters a sense of community spirit. We appreciate your commitment and dedication to creating a positive swim meet experience for everyone involved

      Swim Meet Expectations

Swimmers in the Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced groups are expected to participate in a minimum of 3 meets per season. However, we encourage swimmers to attend as many meets as possible, including both the CVSL League and VSA State Meets.

While BTC Team Swimsuits are not mandatory, they do foster a sense of team unity. Many families opt to purchase one BTC Team Swimsuit and wash it between Tuesday and Thursday meets. Swimmers are welcome to wear any competitive swimsuits during practices. Additionally, silicone BTC Swim Caps are available for purchase.

For those new to summer swim, fully committing means dedicating time to meets, family events, practice drop-offs/pickups, and more. It may seem like a lot, but these 8 weeks promise incredible fun for both swimmers and families alike!
