Junior Programs

Our recreational based junior programs run from June 21st - August 6th, 2010 and are designed to develop children from the ages of 4 - 18 in four categories.

QuickStart Tennis Comes to Burlington Tennis Club!

BTC is excited to introduce this progressive approach to learning and playing tennis for 4 - 10 year olds. This successful approach has been adopted from European countries such as France and Belgium.  We will use a systematic progression of court size, balls, and racquets to modify age appropriate play.  This will enable children to have more fun and make learning tennis easier.  More skills are developed because play is slower, which allows serving, rallying, and scoring to occur between children with much less ball pick up.  This encourages kids to play more often because they can play without the coach. Ultimately over time we will be able to develop tactical awareness, foot work, and movement patterns, decision making, and balance.Lastly players will be able to develop a variety of game styles and skills that better suit their personality.  We look forward to making this fun and enjoyable for the kids!

2. Champs in Training (CT) QuickStart Tennis

7-9 yr. old *Limited to 24 participants on 4 courts
Mon-Thu, 12:00-1:00 pm

3. Junior Tennis Training (JTT)

JTT-1: Grades entering 3/4/5 *Limited to 20 participants on 4 courts
Mon-Thu 1:30-2:30 pm
Thurs: Club Round Robin

JTT-2: Grades entering 6/7 *Limited to 20 participants on 4 courts
Mon-Thu 2:15-3:30 pm
Thurs: Club Round Robin

JTT-3: Grades entering 8/9 *Limited to 20 participants on 4 courts

Friday Swing and Sail: (June 25th thru August 6th)  This is a new program at BTC, ages 10 - 14.   Round robin match play 10 am to noon.  Bag lunch followed by sailing lessons 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the Community Sailing Center. Minimum of 8 required, fee for the day is  $35. Weekly sign up deadline is by the prior Tuesday in BTC office with payment.

All of our programs are unique and scaled to the learning styles of the various age groups. They have been specifically designed to incorporate state-of-the-art practices from the national tennis association with the objective of rapid learning with lots of fun. Each class is based on skill development, playful fun, movement, and challenge in a safe environment. Everyone is welcome and we truly look forward to sharing our summer with your child.
