Burlington Tennis Club Swim Team
The Burlington Tennis Club Swim Team
Program’s mission is to create a fun, yet competitive environment
in which swimmers can build on their skills and technique in a team
setting throughout the summer.
The emphasis of the BTC Swim Team is
always on achieving your personal best times, demonstrating great
sportsmanship, displaying excellent team spirit, and participating in
team events. Each week concludes with a Fun Friday Whole Team
Practice, in order for the kids to get to know one another by
establishing connections between our younger and older swimmers. The
team plays games, practices cheers, fun is had by all! Activities in
the past have included the swim team brunch, hiking Mt. Philo,
attending a Vermont Lake Monsters game and the annual Tie-Dye.
The BTC Swim Team is open to swimmers
of all levels and abilities ages five to eighteen. If members have
questions deciding whether or not their children are ready for swim
team, we encourage you to discuss your questions and concerns with
the coaches. We would be more than happy to help you figure out the
right place for your children, be it on the swim team, or in lessons.
Practices are held daily Monday thru
Friday morning and are posted on the bottom of the calendar (link
below). To accommodate the plethora of older swimmers, there is an
early morning practice for those attending camps or who work in the
afternoon. There is also a late morning practice (Tuesday and
Thursday) for those who wish to come later. For the younger
swimmers, ages 10 and under, there are a couple of options based on
ability and comfort in the water. Please consult with the coaches,
if you are unsure which practice your child(ren) should attend on a
regular basis.
Dual meets between other Champlain
Valley Swim League Teams-CVSL (which BTC is member) are held Tuesday
and Thursday nights throughout the second half of June and the month
of July. The swim season culminates with two championship meets:
The CVSL Championship Meet, held the last weekend in July, and the
Vermont Swim Association (VSA) State Championship Meet, held the
first weekend of August. For further details, regarding these meets
including dates and times, please refer to the links below.
