Member Letter

Dear Members:

Although the 2009 season has ended and winter weather is here, we are already preparing for a great 2010 summer season. We are very happy Jeanne Hulsen will be back as our club manager and head of tennis. Jeanne and her co-manager, Kristin Hartley, bring a wealth of knowledge and an excellent staff to the club. We are lucky to have them. Last year Jeanne and Kristin introduced a variety of new tennis programming, including clinics, drop-ins, and special events such as “switch singles” and World Team Tennis. We look forward to these offerings, and more, in 2010.

At the pool, we are pleased to welcome back head swim team coach and pool manager Cora Gauvin. Cora did a great job bringing the BTC Barracudas to a first-place finish at last year's Vermont State competition, and we are looking forward to another season with her leadership.

In the spirit of being a member-owned club, BTC would like to reward those who contribute toward the maintenance and upkeep of the club by participating in the annual spring workday. Those who choose not to participate may instead pay a $45 capital improvement fee. If you can’t make the workday but still want to participate, a project of your choosing from the list on the volunteers page will also earn you the credit. Just let the office staff know what you did.

We are continuing the member referral program this year. Referral bonuses and prices are posted under Member Dues & Fees. If you have friends who would like to learn more about the club please have them contact our membership coordinator, Dawn Dugan, at 482-5225 or at membership@burlingtontennis.com. She'll be happy to answer any questions or give prospective members a tour of the facility.

This year we will also continue our weekly newsletters via email. Make sure to include your current email address on your membership renewal application. We are also introducing a member Directory and Bulletin Board. Only members can access these areas, but if you do not want your address and phone number to appear on the directory, just say so on your application, or you can update your profile on-line.

Once again we are offering Pool Members the option of upgrading their membership to Pool and Tennis with a $100 discount off the Family Rate and a $50 discount off the Couples and Single Rate.

In an effort to recruit new members, we are offering two great incentives.  Returning members will receive a $100 referral credit for each new tennis and pool member and a $25 referral credit for each new pool only member.  In addition, the $400 initiation fee for all new Pool and Tennis members is waived for 2010.
